OVERVIEW
This is a fellowship devoted to implementing a national program that encourages, supports, and equips local church members in taking actions focused to advance climate justice at the federal level of the United States Government.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the lead organizer for a current campaign focused on congregations collecting petition postcards that call upon the EPA to have robust environmental rules that will protect public health and move our nation to a clean electricity grid by 2035.
- Coach volunteers and interns on collecting postcards in church settings as well as public spaces such as farmer’s markets.
- Call and email volunteers to check on their progress and ensure postcard data is submitted and signed postcards are mailed back.
- Organize a public delivery of collected postcards in DC during September.
- In collaboration with the Minister for Environmental Justice, design and implement a second yearlong campaign for 2024.
- Conduct intensive outreach via phone and email to churches for participation in campaign events, such as art contests, kickoff calls, etc.
