We are seeking to recruit an energetic leader to join the Western Region team in the role of Area Manager located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, which is situated around 1500 kilometers north of Perth CD. Reporting to the Operations Manager - Country, this role is a multi-faceted role responsible for the sales strategy, operational and financial activities of the aggregate, concrete, and logistics operations in north west of WA. This role is integral in driving the Vision and Values of the Hanson Brand both internally and externally to the market.
In your new role, you will:
- Be leveraging your operational experience to understand the quarry, concrete plant and logistics performance KPIs with a strong continuous improvement focus
- Make decisions that impact the overall performance of the business, including sales, financial reporting and management of costs within budget
- Engage with customers to generate new business to achieve business and sales goals
- Take a lead role in realising and identifying key strategic business opportunities within the allocated market
- Conduct regular market analysis and gather market intelligence within your region
- Develop the sales strategy, market and customer plans to grow market share and customer base
- Inspire, motivate, coach and develop your team to efficiently execute strategy and deliver on the regional goals and objectives
This role is a great fit for you, if:
- You are degree qualified and/or have 5 to 10 years’ leadership / management experience / knowledge of the operations of a Quarry and Concrete Plant or similar
- Be able to display a high level of business acumen and a working knowledge of macro and micro economic factors impacting your Markets
- You are experienced in developing budgets, monthly reporting of P&L's and capital applications
- You have a passion for delivering remarkable customer service and great results
- You have a positive and influential presence in building strong and effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- You have a high level of resilience and adaptability to changing situations
- You are a team player who can multi-task and make quick effective decisions under pressure
- You are a natural problem solver and enjoy planning
