Position: Regional Publications Officer

ROLE:
The main purpose of the Communications Officer/ Publications Officer is to create and develop uniformed resident newsletters for one of the London regions. The newsletters are a vital tool in keeping residents updated with community initiatives, environmental issues and progress of construction work on a regular basis.
As well as creating newsletters, you will be working closely with the Community Investment Team to create and develop Community Investment Reports which showcase the good work they do within the community they work in. You will be required to attend news worthy events to take photos and! gather quotes to create a press release/case study which will! be released internally and externally via their PR agency.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Develop appropriate newsletters that will enhance the various contacts across the business.
b) Ensure that Managers and site teams are aware of the importance of newsletters and their benefits.
c) Co-ordinate and communicate with clients to obtain their requirements and expectations from newsletters.
d) Continuously seek improvement in the development of newsletters to ensure that they matches it resident / client requirement.
e) Liaise with Contracts Managers and Divisional Managers via monthly meetings to discuss publications.
f) Develop and maintain a newsletter schedule.
g) Liaise and work closely with the Community Investment Team to create and develop Community Investment Reports.
h) Assist the Community Investment Team at events where necessary to take photos and gather quotes. Assist the Marketing Team at! regional level by creating local press releases and intranet stories.
i) Liaise with key staff in the region to research and flesh out stories for internal news purposes, feeding these into the central marketing team.
j) Draft copy for case studies on projects in the region for the central marketing team to approve and layout into designed templates.
k) Liaise with the Business Development Team for any publications required when they bid for new work.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Previous experience with article writing / journalism and marketing / communications.
b) Advanced skills in MS Office / Microsoft Publisher.
c) Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
d) Ability to work on own initiative and as a team member.
e) Organised and efficient administration skills.
f) Ability to work a digital camera.
g) Ability to work both alone and as part of a team.
h) Experience of working with people at all levels.
i) ! Full clean driving license.
DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Previous experience within construction sector.
b) Educated to A Level standard.
