Our primary health framework is functional medicine and our company is building a unique intelligence engine (AI/ML) to help people get healthy and stay healthy.

About This Role

Do you have a passion for helping people lead healthier, happier lives? Our dynamic team is seeking Health Optimization Guides to be the heartbeat of the relationship that Maka
Members have with our platform and the community.

This role is key to empowering positive health change for our Members. We believe that as a Health Optimization Guide, you possess a unique ability to connect, to understand, and to guide our Members through their health journey as a major factor contributing to them achieving dramatically improved health outcomes.

Core functions:

● Motivational support to Members, enabling them to overcome barriers (logistical and emotional) and progress toward optimising their health.

● Liaise with health specialists and other Members of the Maka community to ensure our Members are supported.

● Assist with administrative functions important to Maka’s healthcare delivery model.

● Help build Maka knowledge databases through curated materials and participation in a community of practice with other Health Optimization Guides.

● Help individuals navigate their personal support network.

Core aptitudes:

● You have a clear, compassionate way of communicating that our Members can understand, and relate to.

● You are meticulously organized and you show a high degree of self-discipline and autonomy in your work and life. People know they can trust you and rely on you.

● You have worked in a health-related field and have sufficient experience such that you exhibit confidence as a trusted wellness ally to individuals, however, you are also comfortable seeking the answer or additional information when you don’t know something.

● You value the opportunity to work in a flexible, remote-first environment that is location agnostic and conducive to balance with family and other life commitments.

● You have an authentic ability to be supportive and non-judgemental, to maintain a positive and encouraging attitude, and to always respect confidentiality and privacy protocols.

Key Qualifications:

● You have a proven, demonstrable track record of providing exceptional client care.
● You have professional education or ample experience in a health-related field.
● You have a bachelor or advanced degree, ideally in a health-related field, and pursued additional education or training to further enhance your skill set.
● You are highly competent with English and comfortable expressing yourself in both written and verbal, including video form, and comfortable navigating software tools.

● You have up to 8 hrs a day for this role, with a minimum availability of four hours a day, within the GMT-8 and GMT+1 time zones.

Beneficial Qualifications:

● Experience in functional medicine and/or integrative health, including a certification such as Functional Medicine Health Coaching Certification (Functional
Medicine Coaching Academy, Institute for Functional Medicine, School of Applied
Functional Medicine, etc.).

● You have experience in the technology sector, using technology, or contributing to managing knowledge systems.

● You are a people leader and a community leader, who is active in advocating for health empowerment in your personal life i.e. the shoe fits so well for a role like this because you already do it naturally.

Compensation and Benefits:

● This role is structured for the successful applicant to join Maka as a contractor.
However, the role could evolve into an employee position.

● The initial wage range for the role is USD $38-50/hr (dependent upon experience).

Salary: $50.00-$66.00 per hour
