We are recruiting for a contract Mechanical / Thermal Systems Engineer to join a global leader in the research and development of high technology instrumentation (including IR C! alibration Sources and LIDAR etc) and ultra reliable batteries for the Space industry. You will use your strong space and satellite systems knowledge to support a flagship project which is currently in its test phase to project completion. The instrument is a highly accurate calibration source (black body near infra-red) used by orbiting satellite radiometers for Earth Observation.
You will need
Strong technical background in one of the following areas is essential:
- Mechanical analysis with some thermal experience. Using industry standard FE solver
- System Engineering (electro-mechanical)
Experience of space test campaigns is highly desirable (vibration, thermal vacuum and shock testing)
Experience of producing high quality design, analysis and test documentation
Support technical reviews with customers on space programmes
Very str! ong technical background in engineering or science (preferably! a degree-level or post-graduate level qualification)
Background in space industry is essential
Previous experience of working with teams, planning and reporting
Strong communication skills at all levels with an ability to provide solutions
Contract Rate: £30ph - £40ph
Contract Length: 12 Months
