We’re currently headquartered in Penrose Quay, Co.Cork, with IDS Monitoring (our MetOcean team) based in Limerick. IDS Monitoring is the MetOcean and Water Quality division of the Green Rebel Marine Ltd. The team combines with the Geophysics Division, the Aerial Survey Team, Vessel Operations and other Green Rebel specialist groups to provide a well resourced, one-stop solution for all marine data requirements. IDS Monitoring is now recruiting for the position of a Field Technician to join their team.
The Role:
Reporting to the Field Manager, the successful technician will be based in Limerick. They will be responsible for the maintenance, upkeep and repairs of marine equipment and machines operated and owned by the company. The successful candidate will also be required to maintain records of any work and inspections done on the company’s various sites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing inventory on repair supplies
- Keeping repair tools and supplies clean and organised
- Making and installing new equipment as well as maintaining current equipment
- Ensure all safety systems are functioning properly
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations Conducting routine maintenance on equipment and all working systems Detecting, identifying and repairing any production issues.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in a labour intensive role
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Comfortable working in a sea/freshwater environment
- Marine experience is desired
- Basic computer skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Self motivated and have the ability to work alone when required
- Proven ability to create and develop good working relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals, coupled with the ability to gain commitment from others;
- Experience with identifying improvement opportunities, generating ideas and implementing solutions;
- Ability to set own high standards of performance and delivering desired results;
- Full European Driving Licence.
