The BBC is the largest broadcasting corporation in the world and BBC Worldwide is currently recruiting an International Format Producer who as part of a small team, this role will be responsib! le for leading the production consultancy relationship with overseas producers and broadcasters, across a wide variety of format titles such as Dancing With The Stars, Great Bake Off and Junior Doctors. BBC Worldwide Limited is the main commercial arm and a wholly owned subsidiary of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) which operates in the UK and over 200 countries around the world.
Role Responsibility
As an International Format Producer you will acquire the information required to deliver production consultancy on a particular title, including compiling production bibles.
You will lead in the production relationship with overseas producers and broadcasters to ensure best possible versions of BBCW owned and licensed format are realised, using knowledge and know-how on identified titles. You will also be first point of contact on all production issues for nominated format titles.
This role will also involve working with the appropr! iate departments within BBCW which ensures all terms and condi! tions for format deals meet BBCW editorial, commercial, scheduling and fair trading guidelines and polices.
You will have the opportunity to work in close collaboration with the Head of Development, also working with the Director of International Production and the BBCW legal teams on issues of brand protection and compliance to ensure effective and relevant Health and Safety processes are in place.
This is a broad and exciting role and you will be key contact for local on and off-air talent, You will analyse production issues; negotiate and implement resolutions including organising, prioritising and scheduling work assignments.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be at Producer level or above, and will have a strong track record in entertainment and factual entertainment production with an attention to detail on all aspects of production.
You will have proven leadership skills with teams and collaboration with internal! and external partners.
Sound editorial judgement and an in-depth understanding of BBC and external policy and guidelines will be an advantage in this role.
Commercial business experience is preferable combined with a track record of effective international client handling and exposure to the international production marketplace.
The successful candidate will have strong journalistic/storytelling skills and good interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with a variety of people and teams.
