Global Business Intelligence Governance Manager
Department: Global Strategy
Reporting to: Global Head of Strategic Planning and Performance
Location (s): Oxford
12 months fixed term contract
Job Purpose
You'll be responsible for the development and management of the Groupâs business data to provide the foundations for legible, consistent and accurate information, enabling end user to use corporate data correctly and to its fullest potential.
Key Accountabilities
Responsible for developing, implementing and managing guidelines relating to standard metric definitions: -
Standard Business Naming Standards
Standard Entity Definitions
Standard Attribute Definitions
Standard Calculation and S! ummarization Definitions
Data Quality Analyses
Defining and documenting sources of Data for the Data Warehouse
Data retention criteria
Establishing Group wide Lexicon of key business metrics, with clearly understood robust definitions linked back to source data
Creating and establishing ongoing awareness programme to ensure that Lexicon is understood and used by all key business users
Ensuring appropriate Information Management systems exist within the Group globally to ensure that the data and metrics definitions can be easily maintained by business owners and accessed by end users.
Establishing and maintaining regular reviews/audits of business reports to ensure adherence to group lexicon
Building appropriate relationships and manage stakeholders to ensure integration with the business area and credibility of advice
Bringing in best practice from other organisations and facilitate the sharing across the Group
Managing own development proactivel! y
Providing direction and leadership so that continuous improvement is embedded in the day to day behaviour of the team
Role model for RS The Way We Work behaviours and foster capability to constantly evaluate processes to optimise productivity and quality amongst the team
Scope of the Role
The role is global, focussing initially on UK, Europe and Asia, but ultimately looking to deliver true global reporting with the integration of the US.
There is only one role across the business
Will have responsibilities and interactions across all regions and functions.
Financial & Legal Responsibilities
No discrete budget or line reports
Environment
Office environment with ad hoc requirement to travel to all locations as required to meet the needs of the Global Function.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications Required
Essential:
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Proven track record in data management
Able to communic! ate confidently and effectively at all levels of the business and to various stakeholder groups, both written and verbal
Can operate within a team environment and be an equal team member
Evidence of strong team leadership skills
Culturally sensitive with the ability to operate effectively in a global role
Shows evidence of all the behaviours â" RS The Way We Work
Desirable:
Qualified Accountant (or similar qualification eg MBA)
Experience of SAP BW, SAP Hana or SAP Business Objects
