Location: Keyworth England
Description: British Geological Survey is at the momment seeking for Stable Isotope Apprentice right now, this occupation will be placed in England. Detailed specification about this occupation opportunity please read the description below. Primary Tasks
- Being fully involved with the analysis of carbon and oxygen isotopes in palaeoclimate/palaeoceanography research using both vacuum and on-lin! e preparation systems
- Preparation of carbonates/organics ready for isotope extraction methods, mainly wet chemistry, filtering, sieving, picking. This will also include high precision weighing
- Liaise with the scientific community and write research proposals for future post doctoral funding
- Data reduction and interpretation as required
- Write scientific papers in collaboration with NIGL staff/scientific communit
- Provide research support for facility manager as required
- Supervise health and safety and COSSH requirements for the laboratory
- Assist the heads of relevant facilities in scientific administration as required etc
