Thales Fibre Splicers will work on existing and new projects including work on the London Underground and National Rail. Fibre Splice! rs at Thales provide flexible and adaptable Splicing services, including Fibre and Radio infrastructure installation, Joint Termination and Test, ensuring high quality and efficient installations and repairs. Applicants should have a good understanding of Health & Safety requirements and have a good level of relevant experience and be prepared to work on call.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Equipment testing in accordance with approved specifications
Update of drawings and documentation as necessary
Regular & consistent submission of daily site logs & project logs
Typically Installation and testing of:
Fibre infrastructure (external & internal)
Copper cabling infrastructure (external & internal)
Radio infrastructure including antennas, brackets, cables and cabinets
Comms equipment, cabinets and cables
S kills, experience & qualifications required
Strong interpersonal skills, including written word
Able to work on own initia! tive
Microsoft Office proficient
Report writing
Experience:
Installation & JTT of internal & external fibre cables, including no-break changeovers in a London Underground operational environment.
Understanding of key health and safety requirements
Installation and Testing & Commissioning of equipment
Installation & JTT of internal & external fibre cables in a Network Rail operational environment.
Installation, terminating and testing of radio infrastructure
SDH & PDH transmission
