Further informations about this vacancy opportunity please read the description below. Thales are looking for a Programme Purchasing Manager (PPM) to be based in our offices in Cheadle, Manchester.
The role will provide efficient and cost effective value added purchasing support to bid or programme/project teams, by undertaking the management of resources within the purchasing team and ensuring suitable and adequate resourcing levels are available.
The PPM will be the initial point of contact within purchasing on a specific bid or programme / project, once assigned to the bid or programme / project.
They will contribute to the profitability/competitiveness of the company.
Fully integrated within a bid or an integrated project team, they will manage the purchasing requirements for bids, projects or products to ensure that all purchasing and subcontract packages are delivered on time, to budget and at the required quality.
Additionally, whilst on a programme/project, they will be responsible for all aspects of purchasing, subcontracts management and materials management and control.

Skill and experience & qualifications required:
A persuasive personality with the ability to communicate at all levels within the business and with external interfaces in order to achieve team and business goals is essential. Candidates will need to have good presentation and interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, suppliers and customers at all levels.
An ability to understand and manipulate figures within timeframes (project plans) to ensure control and management of all supplier requirements within bids, projects, sub-contract, operations and maintenance environments.
This position will require experience in a bid/project/sub-contracts environment and experience of supplier management and negotiation of supply contracts. At interview, candidates will be expected to clearly articulate personal achievements within a purchasing environment, demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of values and savings.
