Java Technical Architect, J2EE Technical Architect needed by leading global media organisation based in York (from Leeds), North Yorkshire.
In order to be considered, you should have experience in some of the following areas:
Strong experience designing and building commercial, complex, enterprise systems Strong skills in Java: J2EE: Jetty, Tomcat, Websphere or Weblogic; Spring; Hibernate; Struts, Spring MVC or Tapestry; Apache and Oracle; virtualisation technologies Substantial client facing and team leadership experience Knowledge of building digital media software systems and architecture Worked on range of platforms i.e. web, client-server, o/s etc Strong logical design skills and logical-to-physical design skills Technical skills across several enterprise technologies Knowledge covering multiple platforms and architectures Can deal with requirements analysis and solution proposition Large architecture experience Worked with multiple streams of design and how they link together Experience of Enterprise Architecture Models Full lifecycle experience, highly technical and hands-on Be committed to design, build and deployment excellence. Experience writing highly deployable, web-based software applications Experience developing enterprise software applications
Overview
As a Technical Architect, you must gauge and understand my clients marketplace and their position within it. You will also understand strategy and translate this by motivating developers. You must be fully focused on delivery and be commercially aware regarding clients.
The Role
Your main responsibility is to architecting and develop complex web applications and leading the technical team(s) to achieve successful delivery of projects. You will be a principal relationship owner and will maintain and improve client relations and be a force in gaining new business. You must improve software development competence via initiation and management of change programs and will identify emerging trends or technologies. You will offer effective solutions to highly complicated business requirements and technical issues and make sound decisions on technical projects related to software applications & architecture. You will create the architecture/design of the systems and justification of the solution to clients and/or 3rd parties and communicate this to the team and support them in implementing it. There is a troubleshooting element to the role and you will act as a senior client manager when needed.
Please note that the role will involve travel to UK and (on occasion), international sites.
