We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate people with leadership abilities to join our team on an accelerated management programme to manage our garden centre - we can train you to run our till area, our dry goods department, our plant area or even the whole store!
The role is very hands on - we believe our managers should lead by example - and would include everything from dealing with customer queries and problems, to ensuring the store in clean and well presented, to managing our tills on our busiest days where we serve around 1000 customers a day. The ideal candidate will need to be a great problem solver with a can-do attitude who enjoys working in a fast-paced, exciting environment. No experience in horticulture is necessary, just a willingness to learn and to get stuck in!
We can offer 35-45 hours per week, working hours and shifts are may vary during our peak and low seasons. You will also need reliable transport to work as our nursery in Martock, close to the A303. We offer starting rates of pay well above the industry average and these will increase by up to £2-3 per hour as you learn and take on more responsibilities, subject to a short assessment period to assess your suitability for the role:
The job is very physical and involves lifting, carrying and being on your feet all day and so we are looking for someone who is reasonably fit.
