Job overview

The postholder will work as part of the Logistics Team providing the Trust with a range of ‘Networking’ services. They will assist the management team in ensuring the service runs smoothly and effectively on a day to day basis.

The postholder will play a key role in the leadership of the Logistics Operatives, delegating where necessary and ensuring appropriate allocation and monitoring of workload to maintain high standards of service delivery and the safety and well-being of patients, staff and visitors at all times.

The postholder will be required to take a ‘hands-on’ approach to the duties carried out by the Logistics Operatives.

To adopt a caring and friendly manner at all times.

Hours of work are 37.5 per week working between the hours of 6am and 10pm on a rota basis which will include weekends and bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

Ensure that the appropriate level of service is provided 24 hours per week, 365 days per year.

Assist where appropriate in the investigation of any complaint regarding the service.

To develop and maintain performance and quality standards.

To demonstrate leadership, development and motivation of the team.

Report any faults on the equipment.

Escalate issues which may have an adverse effect on the service provision.

Administration duties required to ensure the department operates efficiently & effectively on a daily basis.

Complete staff training, ensuring that they are fully competent and certified.

Allocate jobs to all staff at the start of the shift and throughout the working day,

Person specification

Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • ILM Team Leader Award and/or equivalent level of experience working in a supervisory role (minimum 2 years).
  • IOSH Working Safely Certificate or recognised health & safety course/training

Desirable criteria

  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Extensive knowledge of all ancillary duties and procedures ie., waste, sharps, case notes, clean/dirty/infected linen etc., including knowledge of how to deal with a range of non-routine ancillary activities.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.

  • Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incur a cost dependent on the level of check required (£41.90 for enhanced and £21.90 for standard). I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from first month’s pay).
