ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our busy warehouse team and contribute to the efficient functioning of our warehouse operations. As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a vital role in supporting various tasks related to receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping goods. You will also act as a cover driver if one of our regular drivers is off.

Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming orders and verify their accuracy against purchase orders or delivery notes.
- Inspect and report any damages or discrepancies to the warehouse manager.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and stock reconciliation.
- Unloading delivered stock by hand or with the assistance of a forklift.
- Organize and store goods in designated locations within the warehouse, ensuring proper labelling, accessibility, and FIFO.
- Accurately pick and pack orders, ensuring items are appropriately packaged for safe transportation.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organised, and free from hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
- Supporting the warehouse manager with placing orders from vendors
- May be required to go and buy or collect items from local shops.
- Act as backup driver and deliver orders to customers when needed.
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving items of varying weights.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking and packing.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing priorities.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Forklift trained.
- UK Driving Licence.

Salary: £13.50 per hour during probation
