Key duties:
- Conduct, coordinate and run concurrently, lengthy, complex investigations and surveillance operations whilst maintaining investigation logs.
- Have a comprehensive knowledge and skill in the preparation of briefs of evidence and presentation to court either as prosecutor or as a witness.
- Manage competing investigations to address QBFP priorities.
- Train staff regarding investigations including surveillance and investigative techniques.
- Perform an intelligence analysis function to inform on local, regional and State fisheries investigations.
- Effectively prioritise and allocate resources and activities to mitigate high risk threats to fisheries sustainability and industry investment.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with QBFP District staff and other Fisheries Queensland staff to facilitate effective investigations.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships and networks with other compliance agencies to facilitate effective interagency investigations as required.
- Ensure that QBFP investigations are delivered in line with program outcomes.
