Training
Training to be Provided
Training will be provided in the workplace or once a week in Oracle Training Centre (this is dependent on your salon owner). If it is decided you are in the! workplace a trainer assessor will be visiting the salon for o! ne to one sessions.
Monthly seminars held at training provider on different subjects including facials, nails etc.
You will be assessed on your competence in both Practical and Theory.
You will gain Hairdressing Level 2 NVQ Qualification, alongside this you will be required to do Functional Skills at Level 1 in both Maths and English (dependant on prior learning). We also include Employment rights and responsibilities within the qualification.

Developing as a Hair Stylist or Beauty Therapist takes determination, commitment and perseverance. The career paths in our industry are vast and range from assistant to consultant, junior to salon manager, all in a vast array of places; salons, spa’s, department stores, cruise ships, the list is endless. The most important thing to remember is â€" the harder you work the more opportunities will open up to you. Apprenticeship programmes comes in two levels; level 2, which would be classed as the Apprenticeship route and level 3, which is known as an Advanced Apprenticeship. Each ‘framework’ also includes Functional Skills at levels 1 and 2 respectively. Entry requirements for the Apprenticeship programme are GCSE grades relevant to the level of Apprenticeship on offer; e.g. an Advan! ced Apprentice would need Literacy and Numeracy Skills of at least L1. ! Our recruitment staff can advise which programme would be the most suitable for you during your interview. Once inducted onto our programme you will work to a learning plan which takes into account your individual needs. We will work with you to achieve your learning aim and support you as you enter into a career in a very challenging and exiting industry.

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) for apprentices is per hour from 1st October 2013. This applies to 16 - 19 year old apprentices and those aged 19 in the first year of their apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their age applies. The minimum wage Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
