- Comfortable with front to back Corporate Banking and Global Markets processes and products with focus on control execution in the Front office and Back Office operations.
- Interest and basic level of understanding of key Regulatory matters and Compliance principles such as Financial Security and Client Interest Protection.
- Able to identify gaps between controls and key operational risks and recommend remediation actions while respecting the efficiency of the process.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Operational Permanent Control (OPC) oversight controls over the USD Clearing team ensuring key risks are adequately covered by effective and efficient controls.
- Follow up on remediation actions subsequent to OPC control findings.
- Assist in preparation of OPC Management Meeting governance documentation; providing monthly OPC control results to Senior Management; minuting meetings and leveraging control results to contribute to USD Clearing OpCo and Sub ICC.
- Perform bi-weekly Group policies cascading and monitoring of applicable updates of USD Clearing Procedures as point of contact & gatekeeper.
- Perform monthly Key Risk Indicator Monitoring & Controls Reporting to Transversal OPC.
- Perform key monitoring such as training completion, procedure renewal, employee attestations, etc.
- Enrich current controls and procedures, draft new control procedures, or BRD to enhance data availability for OPC controls as needed.
- Assist in requests from Internal Audit, Compliance, Risk and Regulators as needed.
- Participate in the Risk Controls Self- assessment: organize interviews, memorialize minutes, translate into the risk and control template framework, reconcile with procedures, document the quantification of the risks and develop/adjust controls accordingly as needed.
- Contribute to other parts of the CPO mandate as needed.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects or tasks related to the improvement of processes and/or controls supporting the CPO & OPC mandate.
- Participate in cross training & execution of applicable OPC controls supporting the USDC&P mandate as needed.
Qualifications Minimum:
- Experience in the measurement of Operational Risk and the Internal Controls Framework in Financial Institutions is a plus.
- Undergraduate degree with a preferred emphasis in math, finance or business related majors.
- Good knowledge of the financial / banking industry and of the bank’s operations, in general.
- Good knowledge of Payments Operations (SWIFT, CHIPS, FED, Correspondent Banking…) is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced technical skills particularly working with spreadsheets and databases is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and quantitative skills.
- High ethical standards.
