Job Description:
The ICD3 Department is the Design Office of following Cabin Systems:
Cabin Management system (CIDS - FCMS/iCMP)
Cabin Illumination system
Cabin Power System
The new developments in the Cabin area are getting more and more complex due to:
the wish to develop Cross-Program compatible systems along a Product Line approach
the digitalization of the aircraft leading to Multi-ATA systems making use of Data Management, new software architectures and connectivity means provided by wireless devices, satellite communication and IoT techniques.
In this context, we are looking for a Project Manager able to lead the Development of such complex projects for the Cabin System scope.
Tasks & accountabilities
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
The jobholder role is to lead and manage strategic Cabin Core System development Projects inside the Cabin Engineering Organisation. The jobholder will ensure that all the deliverables of the project are reached within targeted time, cost (NRC & RC), quality and performance targets.
His/Her main accountabilities are to:
Carry out the overall planning of deliverables including break down of the work package into sub-deliverables, planning, resources, budget, methodologies and processes
Carry out resource and competence requirements and contribute to resource allocation
Carry out management of suppliers contracts, deliverables for the Engineering scope
Carry out coordination and leadership of integrated multi-functional teams; ensure that objectives and deliveries are clearly defined
Carry out risk management and associated mitigation
Carry out identification of deviations related to schedule and cost; make appropriate decisions or participate in decision involving proper management level
Carry out give full visibility and presentation of the project status at required intervals to Program governance for schedule, risk, resources, actual cost versus baseline performance
Carry out full project closure and lessons learnt capture, and if required formal handover to appropriate functions e.g. serial program
Maintain the relationships with all project stakeholders
Steer the required inputs and decisions from Program
Steer and monitor the project members to ensure proper project progress
He/she is in charge of the control and monitoring of the budget during the year.
Required skills
You will have the following skills and experience:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in System Engineering or a related discipline.
- Ideally the candidates brings also a good knowledge of A/C Systems and A/C System development life-cycle
- A technical Background is mandatory
- Project Management experience up to 5 years desired
- Experience in Agile / Scrum and SAFe methods is a plus.
- Knowledge in System development is a plus
- Team oriented
- Stakeholder Management
- Good communication
- Objectives oriented and good decision maker
- English /German: negotiation level
This role will involve some travel for business (once a month) in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
