Fixed Term Position - 24 months in the first instance, startin! g as soon as possible

We are seeking a Research Assistant/ Associate for 24 months in the first instance to work on our EPSRC programme grant, building large quantum states out of light working in collaboration with the University of Oxford and University of Southampton. The main task of the appointee will be to undertake research in the theoretical part of a joint theory-experiment project which aims at building large scale quantum states for quantum information processing.
For appointment at Research Associate level, you must have, and for appointment at Research Assistant level you must be about to complete, a PhD in theoretical quantum information processing, or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of professional qualifications and experience. You must have a strong record of research experience in theoretical quantum information processing and quantum walks. The ability to work independently and collaboratively is essential. A working knowledge of q! uantum simulations and parameter estimation theory is desirabl! e. Experience in working with experimentalists would also be desirable.
