LOCATION: Manchester
SALARY: £17,000 - £25,000 basic + bonus
CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent
MUST HAVES: Previous Customer service, sales and management background preferably for a similar industry such as Electrical Wholesalers, or distributors.

The company has expanded by focusing on providing customers with the very best choice of products from leading manufacturers from around the world packaged together with a range of value-added services.

The ROLE
The successful Team Leader will be repor! ting to the Area Sales Manager, the Team Leader will manage al! l internal branch staff on a day to day basis ensuring quality, productivity and objectives are met within a positive and results driven environment where customer expectations are exceeded. You are required to:

  • Lead by example by maintaining a proactive and positive approach ensuring high levels of customer service are delivered at all times.
  • Meet the branch KPI's to maximise sales; maintain and grow the number of trading accounts; and increase the range of products sold.
  • Demonstrate sufficient commercial awareness to negotiate prices, depending on customer ownership and status to maximise margin.
  • Maintain and develop on going customer relationships,
  • Ensure all team members work within the purchasing and credit control commercial guidelines.
  • Ensure maximum accuracy on sales orders.
  • Liaise and provide support to sales engineers on all commercial activities.
  • Undertake more complex tasks within the te! am and provide support / advice to others within the team or other branches..
  • Review and report on performance of the team, identifying resource requirements where appropriate.
  • Attend and represent the branch at operational review meetings held at Head Office.
  • Take responsibility for any people management issues that arise within the branch and escalate to the HR department for advice and support.
  • On-going performance management of the team with full involvement of the annual performance review process.
The CANDIDATE
Our client is looking for a Team Leader with the following experience:
  • Experience in similar sales/customer service environment.
  • A background in electrical wholesaler or a distributor would be ideal.
Previous supervisory and internal sales experience would be desirable.
  • To be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively at all level
  • To underst! and the dynamics of team working and to be an integral member of the te! am.
  • To be able to show that they are responsible and accountable for the branch and team
  • Show initiative and drive for continuous improvement
  • Have business and commercial awareness
  • To be able to demonstrate high levels of customer focus.
  • Excellent at planning and organising
  • Being open and trustworthy
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in Management (desirable)
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office and data entry systems
