The primary purpose of this position is to plan, implement, administer, and counsel on Family Support CenterÂ's (FSC) career, transition, relocation, family, and other work/life services and activities provided to military members, retirees, Department o Defense (DoD) civilian members, and their families.

Assesses individual and family needs and providing continuing work/life services to eligible populations.

Participates in implementing, maintaining, and providing installation work/life services that meet community needs.

Conducts and implements marketing and public relations campaign to ensure target populations are informed of services and activities.

Ensures availability of techn! ology-based resources to maximize customer access to a full spectrum of! resources to meet life cycle needs.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-07) or equivalent. Specialized experience must include knowledge of social services delivery systems, concepts, principles, theories relating to one or more social or behavioral science fields; skill in conducting interviews to gather information on the nature, extent of a variety of work/life problems/issues; ability to evaluate concerns, needs, provide assistance in developing goals, plans, provide guidance/direction on referral services necessary and/or available; ability to establish, maintain effective working relationships with individuals, families, management, representatives of social services agencies in the community using tact, diplomacy, overall professionalism; assisting clients in identifying, understanding behavioral patterns, attitudes that affect! personal situations in providing FSCÂ's service.

Federal Time-In-Grade

(TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions:
Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-07 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND! ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas

1. Knowledge of social services delivery systems as well as concepts, principles, theories, and practices relating to one or more of the social or behavioral science fields.

2. Knowledge of personal financial management practices and techniques to provide clients with appropriate financial data and practical financial skills to enable them to make informed personal financial management decisions.

3. Skill in conducting interviews to establish the nature and extent of concerns/issues, provide assistance in developing goals and plans, and determine appropriate referral services/options.

4. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships using tact and diplomacy in interactions with individuals/families and with program representatives and offic! ials.

5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
