So would you like to be a member of our infrastructure centre of excellence based in Croydon?
We are wishing to recruit engineering graduates to joi! n our established highways design team.
You will beco! me a member of a large and expanding design team, taking a technical supporting role in delivering highway design services throughout all stages of major highway project development and in all areas of highways design.
You may be a recent graduate, or already have a yearâs experience, but the role will provide you with every opportunity to complete your training towards membership of a professional institution.
As well as our ICE accredited training programme which will help you to achieve professional status, you will be supported by a trained mentor to complete our graduate portfolio.
In addition we will support continued training through our unique PRISM programme and affiliation with ILX for Project Management training.
Responsibilities
·
You will lead a team of junior technicians working on a variety of highway projects.
·
As an assistant project manager you will be responsible for the preparat! ion of feasibility studies, scheme reports, scheme orders and detailed highway design for major and minor projects.
·
You will attend progress meetings, public exhibitions and public inquiries.
·
The role will also encompass resource, financial and commercial management
Training and Experience
Desirable Skills
·
Experience of Autodesk Civil3D and Vault and Bentley MX
·
Experience of highway drainage design using MicroDrainage WinDES
·
Experience of the delivery of preliminary and detailed highway design, including the submission of Departures from Standards and scheme assessment reporting
Other Essential Functions
Essential Criteria
·
Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering accredited for corporate membership of a professional body, or equivalent qualifications.
·
Working towards corporate membershi! p of a relevant professional body.
·
Knowledge of th! e Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW)
·
Knowledge or Experience of alignment and junction design.
·
Knowledge or Experience of the design of highway related elements, e.g. safety barriers, signs, road markings.
