The role will sit within the IT Category team and take responsibility for complex spend specifically in hardware although NO experience in the IT category is required. The Category Manager will work closely with the business, especially the CIO and his team, to determine business requirements and apply commercial strategies that will deliver cost efficiencies. With a keen eye for opportunity, you will create new, and refine existing, sourcing strategies and lead the implementation for your category. Utilising your procurement skills, you will conduct RFx activities, using eSourcing tools, lead negotiations and manage the contract process.
The role reports into the Commercial Lead who is looking for an innovative individual, who will look to create opportunities, develop a pipeline of savings opportunities, take up strategic projects such as make versus buy and improve processes around supplier governance. You will relish responsibility, want to take o! n board new projects and be happy with plenty of autonomy.
To apply, you will need to display a solid grounding in procurement tools and process, preferably within indirects/services (no prior IT procurement knowledge is required), be of graduate calibre and have experience of working in a large and complex company culture.
