About the Role

Base Location: London

SSE has an excellent opportunity for a motivated and highly organised Executive Assistant to provide administrative support to the Managing Director of Corporate Affairs and their direct reports. You’ll be the main point of contact for Corporate visitors to SSE’s London office and will also provide cover for the Chairman’s PA as required. In this varied role, you will be responsible for:

  • Diary management, prioritising meetings and ensuring all travel plans are made correctly with briefings scheduled, and agendas prepared.
  • Monitoring emails, using judgement and discretion to ensure they are dealt with appropriately.
  • Efficient organisation of meetings for the corporate team, making sure IT works effectively, arranging accommodation, catering, visitor passes, and any other necessary logistics to make sure meetings run smoothly.
  • Managing requisitions and invoices for the Corporate Affairs team ensuring correct approval procedures are followed and invoices are paid timeously.
  • Any other ad hoc tasks as required, including provision of cover for other PA’s as necessary, ensuring expenses are submitted timeously, and ensuring hospitality register is kept-up-date.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would also love you to have:

  • Outstanding attention to detail along with experience of providing seamless administrative support to senior stakeholders, in a similar role.
  • The ability to listen to, understand, and anticipate the needs of a senior management team, and be able to act on own initiative to resolve issues.
  • Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities, manage schedules, and keep calm in a changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent working knowledge of IT packages such as MS Office and Sharepoint, and the ability to suggest solutions and improvements to current processes.
  • Good literacy skills, and the ability to proof-read documents.

Although we offer hybrid working (2-3 days in the office), we will require the successful candidate to be flexible in line with business needs, along with occasional travel to other SSE offices.
