Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper


 

We are on the hunt for an awesome bookkeeper to join our growing team. Bookkeeping is at the heart of our business and provides the foundations for the rest of the work that we carry out for our clients, so we make sure that the bookkeeping services we provide are to a high standard.

To give you an insight into the role some of your responsibilities will include:

· Accounting

· General bookkeeping; data entry and bank reconciliation using software such as Xero and Quickbooks.

· VAT Returns

· Control account reconciliations

· Liaising with current and new clients to ensure all processing is accurate and timely

· Liaising with HMRC

· Other duties as required

Knowledge, skills and attributes

· At least 3 years of bookkeeping experience

· Excellent communication skills

· Attention to detail

· Ability to work to deadline

· Confident and friendly

Duties

Bookkeeping, VAT and Management Account services for a variety of clients – this will take up about 75% of your time. On completion of your probation period you will be given a small portfolio of clients to take responsibility for their services and build a good working relationship with.

You will also be required to help process payrolls, prepare year end accounts, tax returns and assist with other tasks that the business requires.

Knowledge, skills and attributes

  • An accounting or bookkeeping qualification is preferred, however work experience of at least 2 years in a similar role would also be of interest.
  • Knowledge and experience of using Xero accounting software and processing payrolls is a requirement. We do use other accounting software as well but Xero is the main one for our practice.
  • Attention to detail and great communication skills

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 25-37.5 per week

Salary: £11.50-£13.00 per hour
