Operations Trainee [Netherlands]


 

As an Operations Trainee, you will have the opportunity to work in various product teams, utilizing your skills where they matter most. Our one-year program offers a chance to explore different facets of Operations, allowing you to further develop your knowledge in your chosen field, including supply chain management and the commodity-trading sector.


The ideal candidate for this position is ambitious, possesses excellent communication skills, and thrives in collaborative environments. Their team is proactive in making things happen. As an Operations Trainee, you will work on an international scale, supporting our client's operations. You will be responsible for the administration, communication, and monitoring of various logistical processes to ensure timely delivery of their client's worldwide commodities. This will involve handling documentation, organizing arrangements, and addressing inquiries related to logistical procedures. Your role will also require you to provide efficient and effective solutions to any issues that arise, including managing large shipments of 60,000MT or more.

Your role in their network:

  • Appointing cargo superintendents
  • Liaising with vessel agents and thoroughly reviewing commodity contracts and charter party terms
  • Making reservations and managing invoices
  • Timely preparation and presentation of relevant documentation (e.g., bill of lading and certificates of origin) to ensure smooth operations
  • Entering logistical information into their system


Who our client is looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Operations Management, International Business, Supply Management, or a related field
  • Ability to handle stressful peak periods and take responsibility for tasks
  • Flexible, hands-on, and proactive approach
  • Excellent communication skills with an understanding of cultural differences
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
