Job objective

The Center Operations Specialist (OS) has an expert level skilled specialist that is cross-trained and fully proficient in all operational areas, including Phlebotomy, Donor Processing and Plasma Processing.

The OS has the overall supervisory responsibility on technical operations within the Donation Center (DC) that include the full donation process from registration to post-donation follow up thus; he is responsible to ensure that all daily operations run smoothly in accordance with the relevant policies. The OS facilitate the donor journey inside the DC by ensuring the appropriate resources in all stations, donor convenience, and meeting the DC’s KPIs and matrices.

The OS is responsible for the deviation management process within the DC to ensure timely closure and CAPAs implementation.

The OS works throughout the center as needed and directed by management. Acts as a resource and is a designated trainer..


Key responsibility

People Management & development

  • Establish a work environment that foster operational excellence.
  • Ensure all employees are properly, timely, and efficiently trained on the relevant technical areas.
  • Provide a technical expertise to the staff.
  • Support and conduct teams’ trainings.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for operational-related policies and procedures, Plasma Donation System and Plasma Payment System.
  • Provide periodic reports to the OM and CM about the line staff, operations performance, identified gaps and enhancement plans.


Operations Management

  • Supervise the donation operations within the center.
  • Supervise the donor journey step by step, ensure efficiency of staff/area, organization of flow & donor care.
  • Monitor donor recruitment and retention, ensure efficient donor flow, and implement donor retention improvement and corrective action plans
  • Builds rapport with donors to ensure overall donor satisfaction with the DC.
  • Monitor net yields and implement improvement plans.
  • Deviation Management:
  • Through work with various individuals, complete Initial development of DRs that provides the necessary detail to understand root cause and impacts
  • Manage the full lifecycle of DRs including revisions, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and appropriate and timely follow-up activities.
  • CAPAs management from planning till closure.
  • Document, investigate, and perform root cause analysis for deviations and customer complaints, specifically in how they relate to the safety of the donor and the quality of the product.
  • Ensure the training plan for the center staff is in place according to the business need and implemented on time by the training coordinator


Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensure that the donation process is done with high compliance level to company’s policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Deviation management and CAPA development with timely implementation.
  • With the OM & CM, manage center’s audit processes, help to resolve any related issues and ensure timely response and closure to audit observations.
  • Recommend changes and improvements to SOPs.


Back up for the CM & OM:

  • Assist the Center Manager and operations Manager in any task necessary in pursuit of DC objectives.
  • Backup for Center Manager and operations Manager in daily operations tasks during their absence


Academic experience required

Essential: Qualification in the medical field and health-related science and experience in a GxP regulated environment and Quality standards.

Preferably: Expert in a plasma donation process And 0 - 2 years of People management experience
