Introduction
Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Engineering Foreman to be placed in Musina,Limpopo. The successful candidate will report to the General Engineering . The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
Management of all Electrical maintenance and installations to schedule- Supervision and technical skills development of Artisans
- Ordering of equipment / machinery parts in a well-planned way
- Ensure that the site mining equipment and machinery is maintained according to maintenance schedule
- Competent, motivated, disciplined and positive team player
- Effective staff and team supervision in alignment with MRC values and leadership initiatives
- Engineering installation are constructed according to agreed standards, procedures and specifications
- Compliance with SHEQ, MRC and client standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent- Section 26 Artisan Trade Certificate (Electrical)/MIETTB (Mining Industry Engineering Trades Training Board) Trade Certificate through a registered body, eg: (i) Olifantsfontein, pre 1994; (ii) ESTC (Engineering Skills Training Centre) James Park; (iii) GFA (Goldfields Training Academy)
- Engineering Foreman Certificate of Competence or proof of formal Supervisory Training in planning, leading, organising and control
- MS Office Proficient (Word & Excel)
- Valid EB Driver’s licence
- Sound verbal and written communication skills in English
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
5 years’ or more mining industry experience (underground and surface)- 5 years’ trade experience as an Electrician
- At least 5 years’ experience in MV switching
- At least 2 years’ experience acting on a supervisory level as an Engineering Foreman
- At least 5 years’ experience on TMM’s and underground development and construction
- Medically fit to work underground
