MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
To assume full responsibility for all mechanical design aspects throughout the product life cycle and to offer technical expertise and assistance in areas of competence.
Description

Understand and have a good grounding all aspects of mechanical design. New product development through to sustainable engineering
·
Communicate design issues, either written or verbal to all levels within the organization.
·
Generate and analyse data and provide root ca! use identification.
·
Knowledge / experienc! e in Drive for Manufacture / Assembly + material selection â€" taking into account commercial implications
·
Provide technical support during the development of production processes jigs and fixtures.
·
Generate and agree requirement briefs, test regimes project plans and sub contract tenders.
·
Participate in New Product Development Teams as required.
·
Manage sub-contractors - including CAD resources - on and off site as required.
·
Generate and maintain full product documentation and surround for standard products.
·
Work to Company’s policies, procedures and standards.
Required Qualifications and Experience
1.
BSc / BEng (Hons) or equivalent in Mechanical Design/Engineering
2.
Proven design experience in a new product development/engineering and manufacturing environment
Proficient in SolidWorks, but Au! toCAD / ProEngineer also considered
Proficient in product management areas of SAP
Commercial awareness and proven customer centricity
Track record of successful developments.
Measurement and instrumentation experience would we advantageous
Required Skills
A creative, results orientated engineer with an excellent understanding of the needs of modern manufacturing techniques
