Senior Language Learning Adviser

Description: University of Hull is presently looking of Senior Language Learning Adviser right now, this occupation will be placed in England. The Department wishes to appoint a full-time Senior Language Learning Adviser who will be based in our well-equipped and well-resourced Language Learning Cen! tre and will manage a team of advisers and the learning support services and its environment.
The successful applicant will also be expected to contribute to modules focused on language learning and related areas (e.g. learner autonomy, study skills, language learning strategies) and play a key role in the further development of our advisory service and its well-established initiatives in innovative approaches to language learning in a wide range of contexts. Particular emphasis is placed on forms of independent learning in a wide range of educational contexts (e.g. online, self-access, tandem learning etc.).
Applications are invited from scholars with an interest in one or more areas of language pedagogy with a specific focus on language learning advising in second language learning and with an interest in innovative approaches to learning in Higher Education. Experience of teaching in Higher Education is essential.

The successful candidate will join a thriving and expanding School of Languages, Linguistics and Cultures with a broad interdisciplinary research portfolio which cuts across traditional boundaries from Language & Translation Studies; Gender, Sexuality and Society; Culture & Women's Studies; Film and Visual Cultures; to online learning communities, online speech communities, language in social media; second language acquisition, corpus linguistics sociolinguistics and intercultural communication.
The successful applicant will have an interest in pursuing scholarship and will be capable of contributing to the Department’s excellence in teaching and attract grants and awards in ares of learning and teaching which will contribute to inform future research developments.
