The NHS in Worcestershire is looking at ways to provide high quality, safe and affordable hospital services into the future and is currently in the process of a Joint Service Review. The main focus of this review is our acute hospital services, from the Alexandra, Kidderminster and Worcestershire Royal Hospitals, and specific acute services that are provided at some of the community hospitals. We are also looking at the wider health and care system, particularly the links between acute hospitals, community services and GP surgeries.

We require Healthcare Assistants on our busy Acute Medi! cal Unit..
The Acute Medical Unit is a 46 bed unit with an additional 10 assessment trolleys and an ambulatory care clinic.
The unit admits patients 24 hours a day seven days a week. Patients stay on AMU for up to 72 hours before being transferred to the most appropriate environment for their continued care.
The primary role of the AMU is to provide rapid assessment, investigation and treatment for medical patients admitted as an emergency to A&E and/or referred by their GP. We have a large team of doctors, nurses and healthcare assistants and ward clerks working closely together on AMU to achieve these goals.
The unit sees patients with a wide variety of acute medical problems; these include: heart problems, respiratory problems, acute illness in the elderly, gastro intestinal bleeding, drug and alcohol related problems.
As part of the recruitment process, Shortlisted candidates will be expected to attend an Assessment Centre at! the Worcestershire Royal Hospital on 6th August. At the Assessment Centre you would be required to take several written tests and attend a formal interview.
