Media Planning Specialist

The Media Planning Specialist will be responsible for developing and delivering integrated media advertising plans to ensure that we get the best possible value for our media advertising spend. The successful applicant will be a highly numerate and commercial individual, with experience of media buying across a variety of channels.

Job Specification
Develop, manage, execute, monitor and evaluate the success of an annual plan for media advertising, capitalising on new opportunities to deliver growth, share and return on investment objectives consistent with NFUM Marketing strategies and corporate goals
Direct, manage, monitor and regularly evaluate media planning agencies in the development and delivery of detailed media plans designed to maximise the impact of advertising and deliver ROI objectives
Oversee and develop a variety of modelling and analytical techniques to improve the effectivene! ss of media strategies in support of business objectives and i! nform financial and sales projections
Build, maintain and manage relationships with internal stakeholders, media buying agencies and other third party suppliers to ensure terms and conditions and service level agreements are effective and delivered
Plan, manage and monitor budgets and expenditure to ensure effective allocation and control of finances
Regularly review, analyse, evaluate and report on competitor activity and new media opportunities to develop recommendations for future strategy
Regularly review, analyse, evaluate and report on tactical media initiatives e.g. PPC, media placements, to ensure most effective use of expenditure in line with business objectives
Deliver short term / one-off projects and activities as required by and to the standards and outcomes agreed with Line Manager

Person Specification
Essential

Significant strategic media planning experience, client-side or agency
Experience of managing £multi-mi! llion media spend across all media channels above, below and through the line
Experience of planning, buying, monitoring and optimising media spend across TV, radio, digital and press
Proven experience of cost negotiation and drive to getting the best ROI

Desirable

Ability to demonstrate experience of managing suppliers in the media buying sector
Good understanding of the mobile/digital market and emerging technology, as well as traditional media
In-depth understanding of media consumption trends and cost by channel
Highly numerate with a commercial focus
