Works as an Engineer in product, system or technology program in SW/HW/System Design or Integration & Verification.

Main Responsibility Area

Overall ! responsibility of specified entities (e.g. features). Plans, designs and executes items in own area. Contributes to specification reviews. Works according to given tasks. Participates in work amounts estimation in own area. Consults, supports and guides own team’s external interfaces. Is responsible for sharing knowledge in his/her expertise area. Gives input to process development. Performs problem isolation and resolution. Applies knowledge and experience to determine root cause.

Position Description

To ensure, as part of the development team, that each release of Network Directory Server (NDS) is tested to the highest standard within the timescales provided and to report any problems that may be found. The role will involve being part of a scrum team developing new functionality in terms of providing the functional and non-functional testing. The role will include activities such as fault analysis and correction.

Key Responsibilities

!

• Write & Review Test Plans and Test Scripts to valida! te the expected system functionality
• Write and execute Test Cases and Test Scripts
• Raise fault reports when appropriate
• Setup test lab and test data

Essential Skills:

• At least 1 year’s experience in functional or non-functional testing
• Experience of testing backend systems, specifically databases
• Good knowledge of testing processes and methodologies
• Working in an Agile environment
• Scripting and test automation knowledge
• User level Perl and UNIX (Linux)

Essential Attributes:

• Proactive, methodical, organized, enthusiastic, eager to learn, take pride in own work, pay great attention to detail
• Ability to communicate with people clearly and efficiently

Additional Requirements:
Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Knowledge of LDAP, DAP, X.500
• Knowledge of troubleshooting methodologies

• Experience of databases using external replication
• Experience of telecom and/or IP networks
• Experience in clustered environments or distributed systems
• Experience in understanding, debugging and writing C
• Experience of working with UK-based companies and remote sites
• Excellent spoken and written English
