We are currently recruiting for an Independent Living Team Leader for an initial 12 week assignment to work for a local authority in Northamptonshire.

You will be responsible for co-ordinatin! g the services to people with a range of complex issues including people with disabilities, mental health issues, ex-offenders, substance misuse, sensory impairments, older people and their families to reduce inequalities and exclusion and improve quality of life and increase opportunities. This includes developing and delivering initiatives in collaboration with strategic partners, service users, carers and the wider community to increase their capacity to meet the needs of vulnerable adults and to provide a comprehensive support service to customers of the service. You will be responsible for the development of performance indicators for the section including support planning, vulnerable adult and positive risk panel escalations. Translate corporate and national performance targets and incorporate locally. Lead on sourcing or developing a service validation tool to ensure best practice and enhance the competitiveness of the service

You will be reporting to the Ho! using Solutions Manager and will have 3 direct reports and wil! l be indirectly responsible for approx 26 staff with a budgetary responsibility of circa £900k. You will oversee the recruitment and management of a multi-disciplinary team of staff and the performance management of the team.

In order to be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in Housing Register, Homelessness Housing Advice, Sheltered Housing Service or Supported Housing Environment
  • Operational Experience of Choice Based Lettings and IBS Systems
  • CIH Qualified or studying to become a full member of the CIH or completed/undertaking the ILM qualification
  • Thorough knowledge of Housing Act 1996 as amended, Code of Guidance, case law etc. Minimum 2 years' experience conducting reviews Part 6 or Part 7, Minimum of 2 years' experience of working within the supported housing and Safeguarding framework
  • Experience of people management experience in term! s of absence and performance management
  • Ability to drive change and implement new ways of operating
  • Ability to motivate, influence and support employees to achieve targets
  • Full Driving License and use of car for work
  • Enhanced CRB within the last 12 months
